Perhaps people are more familiar with her work than the person who created it. her work has been printed and sold widely in the United States. The world also knows them, 5 girls with super powers from the elements of nature and the solar system against various enemies from darkness. They have a mission to find the moon princess and the Silver Crystal, they are: Sailor Moon.
The important figure behind Sailor Moon is Naoko Takeuchi. This woman who was born on March 15, 1967 is actually not a comic artist, at first. Takeuchi is a licensed pharmacist. She graduated and received a degree in chemistry from Kyoritsu University of Pharmacy. However, while following the education suggested by her parents, she is still in the world of manga that he likes. At the age of 19 she had already produced his first work, which later won the Nakayoshi’s New Artist award.
As if finding a career path, Takeuchi is productive in producing works. Of course her most monumental work is Sailor Moon. Takeuchi’s work includes comics, several films, stage musicals, and television series. Sailor Moon tells the story of Usagi Tsukino, a girl who one day realizes that she is the reincarnation of a hero who fights for love and justice. It was this series that led to the many “magical girl” anime and manga that sprang up in the late 1990s. The series was printed in 18 volumes, then reprinted in 2003 and 2004 in a 12-volume deluxe “Renewal Edition” format with an additional two volumes telling the story of its creation.
Now Naoko Takeuchi lives in Tokyo, Japan, with her husband, Yoshihiro Togashi, maker of YuYu Hakusho and Hunter × Hunter. They have a son who is nicknamed “Petit Ouji”.
